Paul D. Sletten founded The Sletten Group, Inc. in 1975 in Denver, Colorado. We are now celebrating our 35th anniversary! We continue to exclusively work with fee-for-service dentists and their teams around the country.
The Sletten Group, Inc. was originally founded as Paul Sletten and Associates, Inc. The primary focus of the business in 1975 was offering practice management services. The focus was to teach dentists how to operate their dental practices as a business. We helped clients become effective managers and leaders. By the end of the 1970’s, we began helping dentists place Values on their practices and offered services for creating successful transitions.
We have a large number of clients who have been working with us for over 20 years and still have future dental practice transition events on the horizon. It is exciting to see both people and practices grow and to know we have had a hand in it.
The Sletten Group has developed an international clientele. We have worked with clients in 46 states in the U.S., four provinces in Canada and in two states in Australia. Our wide-ranging experiences allow us to bring what we have learned to each new client situation. It helps us know how to tailor our services to the unique needs of each client and to be able to offer multiple options to almost any client fact situation.
Paul has spoken at more than 200 dental meetings around the country. This includes almost all of the major dental meetings and numerous study clubs. The topics focus on all aspects of Practice Transitions — including buying a dental practice, selling a dental practice and much more — as well as personal growth and development for dentists and team members.
Ruth Sletten and Pam Sletten work in the business and are very involved in helping our clients. They all make very important contributions to our clients and to the success of our business.
The next decade will be full of more opportunities and will require that we change with the needs of the profession and our clients. We continue to expand our range of services for young dentists and prospective buyers. We help them evaluate practice opportunities and set a proper course for their professional lives. All of us at The Sletten Group continue to focus on our own personal growth each year. We come to the world with a sense of wonder and are constantly on a quest to learn more and apply that learning to the benefit of our clients.
Pam Sletten has been in the Dental Practice Transition business for the last fifteen years, helping dentists from all over the United States and Canada plan and implement successful practice transitions. She is extremely accomplished in producing Dental Practice Valuations and is in the process of completing her Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) degree. Pam works directly with the dentists and their teams on all details of the transition to accomplish successful results, whether the transition includes a practice purchase or sale, adding an associate to the practice that will eventually become an owner/partner, or any practice management details that may arise pre and post-closing. Along with her father Paul Sletten (founder and owner of The Sletten Group, Inc.), she helps facilitate team retreats, workshops and seminars for training purposes.
Prior to joining The Sletten Group in 2001, Pam was a manager for Morton’s Steakhouse restaurants opening different locations throughout the country. These skills of working with large teams, planning and implementing successful grand openings for the restaurant group, and working to assure an excellent experience for all guests has translated extremely well into her current career helping dentists and their teams create excellent results through successful practice transitions.
Pam graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota in 1990 with a degree in Organizational Management and has remained a student at heart since that time. After graduation, Pam moved to the mountains of Colorado and began working in the restaurant industry opening restaurants throughout the Keystone Resort ski area. Her last job, before being hired by Morton’s Steakhouse was Food and Beverage Director at the Arapahoe Basin Ski Area.
Pam is a member of the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration (AADPA) and she spends a great deal of her free time volunteering throughout the Denver area for causes that are important to her. She is currently on the board for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA), as Vice President of new membership. She is also the Auction Committee Chair for the upcoming gala benefitting the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center as well as serving on the committee for Bessie’s Hope (an Alzheimer’s foundation), the Colorado Ballet, Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network (ADMHN), Excelsior Youth Center (benefitting at-risk youth), The Cancer League and the Colorado Firefighter Calendar that raises money for the burn unit at Children’s Hospital, Denver.
